Welcome to the Electrical Contractors Directory, this site has been developed to give visitors access to those companies that work with electricity a commodity that is primarily produced in New Zealand by a comprehensive Hydro Electrical system. The contractors that you will be able to find in the Electrical Contractors Directory (when complete) will be employed as Electricians and Electrical Contractors, Electrical Appliance Repairs, Suppliers and Wholesalers, and those that build and construct the appliance, switchgear, components and equipment, in use every day around New Zealand. We expect that this site will become very large as time and interest gathers. Below you will find links to NZ Associations that represent this trade sector.

The Electrical Contractors Association of New Zealand |
The Electrical Contractors Association of New Zealand has a membership of 1,267
businesses, its members employ 6,500 electrical workers and have total annual combined
sales of $700,000,000.
ECANZ has ten Branches in a nationwide network of electrical businesses operating under
the Safepower Assured brand. Safepower Assured Contractors are the professionals of the
electrical trade and with ECANZ's organisational strength behind them, specifying a
Safepower Assured Contractor is your safeguard against sub-standard workmanship.
The Association's members at present employ in excess of 1,000 apprentices and this is 78%
of the national total. The Association owns the Electrical Training Company Limited which
employs some 125 electrical apprentices who are seconded to industry. The Training Company
also has New Zealand Qualification Authority accreditation as a training provider and is
presently involved in the off-job training of some 700 apprentices nation-wide.
