Introducing
the kiwi & trade awards
The purpose of this award site is to motivate webmasters to improve
their work, and help to make the WWW web a better place for everyone.
We will spend at least half an hour on each submitted site. Not
everyone that applies will receive an award. We have two awards that you can win, all winners receive free listings on the nztrades site.
Kiwi Construction Award
|
Trades Award
|
 |
 |
The purpose of the Kiwi Construction Award is to
recognize business and industry websites that are "constructed" using good
design techniques. When a site is visually pleasing and easy to navigate, it makes your
visit much more pleasurable, regardless the content.
|
The purpose of the
nztrades Trades Award is to recognize trade related business and industry websites that use good graphics
and are informative. When a site is selling a business, product or service the
information must be relevant and the graphics must support the overall site design.
|
Those who give an award to all that apply are usually only
interested in promoting their own site. These awards will only be presented to
deserving sites. We have a very strict criteria for judging the sites we review.
To meet our criteria, you must know what is required and you must prepare your site.
"nztrades award criteria"
These awards are restricted to Business
Related Sites and must conform to the following criteria.
 | English language only. |
 | Your site should have an attractive layout, with colors and text that
compliment the visual appearance. If graphics are used, the majority of them should be
original. |
 | Content is very important; however, this award is primarily for design. |
 | Consider the load time; try to keep your graphics small and minimize page
scrolling. |
 | Make it easy for your guests to navigate your site. There should be more
than one menu; the back button should never have to be used. |
 | If you have a one page website then bookmarks should be used with links. Sites
that require visitors to scroll through reams of information are tiring. |
 | Avoid using under construction signs, blinking text, all
uppercase text, numerous advertisement banners, and pop-up windows for JavaScript warnings
or to enter your name. |
Things that will help your site fail!
 | Pornography, profanity, nudity, racism, violence, controversial or
offensive material will not be accepted - do
not bother submitting these to the nztrades judges!! |
 | If you have music we must be able to turn it off (we occasionally make an
exception if we really like the site & the music doesn't loop). |
 | If your site crashes or locks up our browser we won't give you another
attempt. |
 | Spelling, grammar and punctuation count! Even we know the difference
between to, two & too. |
Application Rules
 | The nominated site must be created by the owner. |
 | You can only submit your own site for review. |
 | If you win an award, your site will be listed among the recipients; a description
and link will be included. |
 | Recipients are required to display the award graphic and link back to this site. |
 | Only the winners will be notified. If you have not heard from us in over two
weeks, we are either really busy or you did not win the award at this time. Remember you
can always re-submit your site anytime you make changes and updates. |
 | Finally, if you win the Trades Award or Construction Award, a note of
acknowledgement would be greatly appreciated. These only takes a few seconds, and please
never criticise or complain. We are entitled to make our own decisions! In addition,
please do not ask us how you can improve your site. We are here to review and give
results. |
